Gemeinnützige Organisationen und Projekte gibt es viele, doch nicht jedes ist so erfolgreich wie das andere. Zum alljährlichen Welt-Down-Syndrom-Tag veranstaltet der Laufclub 21 einen Marathon, der nicht nur die Gemeinschaft der Menschen mit denjenigen, die etwas „anders“ sind fördern soll, sondern diesen auch zeigt, dass sie akzeptiert werden, wie sie sind. Jeder Mensch ist auf seine Weise gut und etwas Besonderes, was die ING-DiBa mit diesem Charity Run unterstützen möchte. Aus diesem Grund finden sich jedes Jahr zahlreiche Läufer zusammen und laufen verschiedene Etappen für dieses gemeinnützige Projekt.
Hintergrund und Ablauf
Dieser Charity Lauf findet jedes Jahr in Fürth, Deutschland, statt, unterstützt von der ING-DiBa. Seit dem Jahr 2006 gibt es den offiziellen Welt-Down-Syndrom-Tag, wobei seit 2011 der dafür anlässliche Lauf stattfindet. Vom Laufclub 21 organisiert finden für diesen besonderen Tag gleich mehrere verschiedene Lauf-Events statt, wie der Marathon oder auch der Halbmarathon.
Jedes Jahr nehmen an diesem Marathon bis zu 1000 Läufer teil, mit dem Ziel, die Berührungsängste zwischen Läufern mit und den Läufern ohne Behinderung bzw. Beeinträchtigung abzubauen. Es soll auf beiden Seiten als etwas völlig Normales und Unkompliziertes angesehen werden, was es schließlich ja auch ist! Da nicht jeder gleich sportlich ist, werden gleich mehrere und verschiedene Lauf-Events angeboten, sodass jeder den passenden Lauf für sich findet, um trotzdem teilnehmen zu können. So können Läufer hier wählen zwischen:
- Ultramarathon, der ganze 42,195 km beträgt
- Marathon mit 21,1 km
- Halbmarathon mit 10 km
- Normaler Lauf mit entspannten 6 km
Dadurch kommen nicht nur Hobby-Sportler vollkommen auf ihre Kosten, um ihr komplettes Können auf die Probe zu stellen, sondern auch Hobbyläufer können etwas Gutes tun. So ist am Welt-Down-Syndrom-Tag für jeden das richtige Event dabei. Wer hier teilnimmt, der unterstützt nicht nur das gegenseitige Vertrauen der Läufer untereinander, sondern auch die Down-Syndrom-Beratungsstelle. Denn 100% der Überschüsse werden gespendet!
So oder so, mit diesem Charity Event tut jeder Teilnehmer etwas Gutes und fördert durch die sportliche Betätigung auch etwas die eigene Gesundheit.
